It’s been 3 weeks I’m under my internship program at Austral edible oil company, quite a very good place indeed, to gain as much as knowledge you need.
A bit history about this Austral company, formerly known as Austral Enterprise, producing Refined, bleached, deodorized palm oil(RBDPO), olein and stearin. A few years back then,SIME darby plantation bought shares from this company, about 60% of it was belong to Sime Darby Plantation.
I’m going to be a part of Austral for almost 4 months, and this was an opportunity that I’ve been waiting from a long time ago, as I started my studies in uitm in chemical engineering, to have an industrial training.
As I thought, and it was proved to be true now, being a chemical engineer is not an easy task, to ensure you succeed in this area, you need to blend yourself with this field itself.
In order to blend myself in this area, for the past 3 weeks, I’ve been through to a lot of things. Just this evening, I was climb up to cooling tower which is 4 storey heights. Fuh…it is very dangerous if you are never been given any guides on how to climb the ladder you know. Well, nothing much that I saw from that cooling tower, just a couple of GIANT fan, which was used to cool down the water temperature.
Not on only the cooling tower, I also have been to the highest level of refinery plant, which is 8 storey heights. It sounds not very high, but when you see the structures of this building, then you will know how scare is it. On that level, is where, the top deodorizer is located, briefly, deodorizer is an equipment that has a function just like the distillation column.
I guess that’s my all boring story for today….and the last word from me, never doubt of yourself, always be confidence and keep doing good things, not only for yourself ,but also for the others..:)
